Kosovo is a partially recognised state and disputed territory in Southeastern Europe. It declared independence from Serbia on 17 February 2008.

Most of Kosovo experiences a continental climate with mediterranean and alpine influences. The climate is strongly influenced by its proximity to the Adriatic Sea in the west, the Aegean Sea in the south but also the European continental landmass in the north. Kosovo is an outstanding tourist destination with cuisine, architecture and religious heritage. In 2011, UNESCO ranked Kosovo in the top 40 places to visit that you should go when traveling.

The topography of Kosovo is mostly mountainous, with the highest peak being the Devarica (2,656 m). The capital is located in Pristina and the common currency of Europe is the Euro. It is one of the few European countries to apply for tourist visa easily because the government is aiming to reach out to the world.
